Autumn detoxification? What does the term "DETOX" actually mean?
First and foremost, detoxification is a cleansing process in which the body gets rid of harmful substances. It is one of the means to restore balance, regeneration and self-healing in the body. Properly performed detoxification harmonizes the body, induces a feeling of health, increases energy and clarifies the mind.
We solve health problems mostly by treatment. If we choose treatment, we have two more options. The first is allopathic (pharmaceutical) medicine, the second is natural (traditional or alternative) medicine. An alternative to these treatment methods is a detoxification program, which focuses on helping the body heal itself.
The purpose of total detoxification is to remove dead cells and tissues and toxic substances that accumulate in the body as a result of a sedentary lifestyle and the consumption of foods that often contain many animal proteins, refined sugars, dyes, preservatives and the like. Many acute and chronic health problems stem from the accumulation of toxins in the tissues. The cells then do not receive enough nutrients and "suffocate." Although classical medicine does not consider detoxification and diet composition important for prevention and treatment, Hippocrates, Paracelsus, and many Eastern medical physicians have dealt with fasting and diet as a medicine.
Detoxification takes place in 3 phases: excretory, transient and regenerative. It has been proven that cleansing can stop and treat many diseases. This applies in particular to chronic diseases such as asthma, lung diseases, osteoarthritis and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system, migraines, cardiovascular diseases including high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and mental illness. It helps with digestive and excretory problems, skin problems, strengthens the immune system, cleanses and stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation.
The basis of almost every detoxification is a drinking regime (2 to 3 liters of fluids per day), a change in diet, appropriate physical activity and work with the mind and emotions. There are many types of detoxification, so everyone can choose the most suitable one for themselves. What works for one may not work for the other. Detoxification can be general or targeted to a specific organ or system. Beware of drastic fasts, they can be dangerous and after their completion there is a yo-yo effect with an increase in adipose tissue. Careless detoxification can produce a large amount of toxins that the body cannot process so quickly and can overload the body. Vigorous detoxification is not recommended for people with diabetes, renal colic, weak liver or pancreatic disease. Detoxification can be done at home, but also in specialized clinics.
